FRANKFORD — An 83-year-old Frankford man was charged with felony assault following a domestic incident Thursday afternoon, Delaware State Police spokeswoman Cpl. Amina Ali said.

Cpl. Ali said that at approximately 4:43 p.m., troopers responded to a residence on the 34000 block of Shockley Town Road for a report of a stabbing.

Investigation determined that Brooks Garrison threatened to kill a relative before he stabbed her multiple times with a knife, police said.

Police said Mr. Garrison fled the scene in his car and called 911 shortly afterward to turn himself in. He was taken into custody without incident, Cpl. Ali said.

The adult woman who police said was threatened was treated and released from an area hospital for serious injuries, Cpl. Ali said.

Mr. Garrison was charged with first-degree assault, possession of a deadly weapon and terroristic threatening. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $102,000 cash bond.
