Frank W. Marshall Sr., 'Captain Peabody' LEIPSIC - Frank W. Marshall, Sr., "Captain Peabody," of Leipsic, passed away on Friday July 2, 2010, at Kent General Hospital in Dover with his sons at his bedside. He was 75. Mr. Marshall was born June 9, 1935, in Leipsic the son of the late James H. Marshall and Estella Killen Marshall. He retired in 2000 as a mechanic for Carey's Diesel in Leipsic and was most recently employed as an "accountant" for the American Legion David C. Harrison Post 14 in Smyrna, DE. He also previously worked for the Electric Hose and Rubber Company in Wilmington, DE for 14 years. He served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corp and was proud of his service. Captain Peabody was a former commercial crabber who loved to fish and work on his boats. He took up radio controlled airplanes and helicopters recently and liked to build ship models. He was a Life Member of the Leipsic Fire Company and was an active member of the American Legion David C. Harrison Post 14 in Smyrna. He was a good mechanic who always had many friends come to him for help with car troubles. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Everett; and five sisters, Violet, Beatrice, Ida, Stella, and Mary. He is survived by his wife, Frances M. Marshall; two sons, Frank W. Marshall, Jr. and his wife Yvonne of Clayton, and Faron W. Marshall, Sr. of Smyrna; a brother, Henry Marshall and his wife Julia of Leipsic; a sister, Alice Brown and her husband Tommy of Felton; a brother-in-law, Mickey Lord and his wife Janet of Bellfonte; a sister-in-law, Ruth Simmons and her daughter, Betty of Rehoboth; four grandchildren, Daniel and his companion Desiree, Faron Jr., Brandon, and Christine; two great-grandchildren, Destiny and Elijah; and his dog Milo who is considered to be his third son. Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday evening, July 7, 2010, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Faries Funeral Chapel located at 29 South Main Street, Smyrna. Memorial Services will be offered at 7:30 p.m. Committal services will be held on Monday, July 12, 2010, at 2 p.m. in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear.
