GREENWOOD - Frank L. Rothermel, 89, of Greenwood, died Thursday, March 3, 2011, at Delaware Hospice Center. Mr. Rothermel is the son of the late Frank E. Rohtermel and Margaret Maloney Rothermel. He was preceded in death by his wife, Caroline Neff Rothermel; two brothers, Herbert and John; a sister, Sarah Effinger. Frank served in the US Army during World War II and worked at Delmarva Power & Light (DPL), as a journeyman, for 34 years prior to retirement. Mr. Rothermel was a member of the Houston United Methodist Church and the Harrington Moose. He was an avid sportsman and outdoors man, he loved rabbit hunting, gardening and fishing. He is survived by one daughter, Bonnie Miller; one son, Frank A. Rothermel; seven siblings, Frances and Ruth Bennett, Helen Sharp, Marian Keily, Harold, Marvin, and Martin Rothermal; one grandchild, Eric Miller; and two great-grandchildren, Alexis and Jay. Also a long time very special friend and dear companion, Eleanor Semans. Funeral Services will be 1 p.m., Monday, March 7, 2011, at the Houston United Methodist Church, 235 Broad Street, Houston, where friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a viewing. Interment will be Milford Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the DE Hospice Center, 100 Patriots way, Milford, DE; or the Houston U.M. Church 235 Broad Street, Houston, DE 19954. Arrangements handled by Berry Short Funeral Home.
