Francis Oliver Green, 73 LEWES - Francis Oliver Green, 73, went home to peaceful quietness June 26, 2010, at Beebe Hospital in Lewes, his beloved daughter TanJala Garcia was with him until the end. Born in Mt. Friendship, (Kenton) on Sept. 26, 1937, Francis was the son of the late William Heath and Lillian Green Cummile. He was a member of the Friendship male chorus, that he enjoyed so much. He was a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church for many years. Francis was affectionately called "Franny" by family and friends and "Pop" by neighbors. He attended Kenton Elementary School; he later attended William Henry High School in Dover. In the mid 1950's he became interested in the funeral business in which he loved, he was involved in that for forty-six-years. Francis was preceded by his wife of 32 years, Katherine Green, two sisters, Claudine Harmon and Hazel Hawkins. He leaves one daughter, TanJala Garcia (Hector) of Dover; one brother, Mitchell Heath (Marian) of Wilmington; one sister, Florence Cole of Wilmington; one brother-in-law, Benjamin Hawkins of Chester, Pa.; three grandchildren, Russell Ewell of Smyrna, Denise and Stefan Ewell, both of Dover; and three great-grandchildren, four step grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and very special friends Robert and Patsy Leggings of Milton, Ruby Banks of Lewes; James Jefferson of Milton, his church family and adopted family the staff of Young and McPherson Funeral Home. On Saturday, July 3, 2010, a viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, with funeral services beginning at noon at Friendship Baptist, Lewes. Services Entrusted to: Young & McPherson Funeral Home, Inc., Seaford.
