Frances 'Frannie' Marie La Pointe, 59

TOWNSEND - Frances "Frannie" Marie La Pointe, of Townsend, passed away peacefully in her residence on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008. She was 59. She was born on March 29, 1949, in Wilmington. Frannie worked in the dry cleaning business for many years. Later she worked for MBNA. Following her retirement from MBNA, she became a pharmacy technician. She currently was working at Eckerds, now known as Happy Harrys/Walgreens in Smryna. Frannie was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church in Townsend. She loved spending time with her granddaughter, Odessa. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mabel Thomas; three brothers; and three sisters. Frannie is survived by a loving and devoted husband of 41 years, Everett La Pointe; a son, Raymond Mayne of Townsend; a sister, Sally McConnell of Townsend; a brother, Arnold Thomas of Texas; a granddaughter, whom she loved and adored, Odessa Wyatt, of Townsend; a niece, Tracey Sartin and her husband Eric and their two children Kaitlyn and Eric of Smyrna; a nephew, Brian Thomas and his wife Charlene of La.,;as well as additional nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday at Free Will Baptist Church, 4519 S. DuPont Highway, Townsend, where family and friends may visit from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday evening. Burial will be in Townsend Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund, 4519 S. DuPont Highway, Townsend, DE 19734.
