DOVER - Frances J. Hribar passed away peacefully at Genesis Milford Center, Thursday, September 3, 2015. She was 99 years of age. Frances was born January 21, 1916 in Akron, Ohio to the late John and Frances Obreza Grum. She worked as a beautician and then as a secretary at Ford Motor Company. Frances married Frank Hribar of Hoboken, N.J. in 1941. Frank died during the invasion of Germany in WWII. She was a devoted Lifetime Gold Star widow, a devout Catholic woman, and never remarried. After the war, she lived in the New York City area for many years, then in 2004 moved to State Street Assisted Living in Dover to be near family. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; her sisters, Josephine Dragoo and Jean Gillon; and two brothers, Harold Kovsca and William Kovsca. Frances had no children of her own, but shared all her love with the families of her sisters. Funeral services will be held for the family at Torberts Funeral Home on Sunday, September 13, 2015. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hackensack, N.J. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to: Fund in Memory and Honor of Frances Hribar, State Street Assisted Living, 21 North State Street, Dover, DE 19901.
