MILTON - Frances F. Millman, of Milton, passed away Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, in her home. She was 91. Frances was born in Georgetown, daughter of the late Oscar and Clara (Messick) Fleetwood. She was an Associate with JC Penney for 30 years. Frances was a member of Whites Chapel where she was a Sunday School teacher for 25 years, and also served as Jr. Choir Director. She had also been a member of Milton Wesleyan Church, where she was President of the Willing Worker Class and Sunshine Secretary. Frances was a member of the 4-H Link and was leader of the Broadkill Kool Kats for 46 years. She received the Governors Outstanding Volunteer Award in 1992. She loved gardening, floral designing, cooking, crabbing, clamming, family outings, singing and fundraising for charities. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Roland P. Millman, Sr.; a son, Roland P. (Sonny) Millman, Jr.; a brother, Harry Fleetwood; and sister, Mabel Givens. She is survived by four daughters, Nancy Harris, of Vineland, N.J., Barbara Wilson and husband Robert, of Georgetown, Mary Argo, Brenda Argo and husband Paul, all of Milford; 17 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren. A funeral service will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012 in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal Street, Milton with visitation after 12 noon. Burial will be in Whites Chapel Cemetery, Milton. Flowers are accepted, or contributions can be made to Milton Wesleyan Church, c/o Pastor Tim Wilson, 415 Union Street, Milton, DE 19968.
