Frances C. Hotz, 91

CLAYTON - Frances C. Hotz, of Clayton, died Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009, in Pinnacle Health Center, Smyrna. She was 91. Mrs. Hotz was born Oct. 5, 1917, in Philadelphia, the daughter of the late William and Frances Ferrari Green. She worked as a Seamstress for 22 years at the John Stone Training and Research Center in Bordentown, N.J., where she designed and created costumes for several local theater groups. She had a passion for collecting porcelain dolls and enjoyed selling and designing older clothing. She loved bowling in all three leagues in the Dover area. Mrs. Hotz was also a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Smyrna. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Charles W. Hotz; her sister, Helen Sturiano; and her brother, William Green. She is survived by her loving husband of 76 years, Charles A. Hotz; a son, John Hotz and his wife Peggy of Lee's Summit, Mo.; a daughter, Joan Taylor and her husband Lawrence of Pennsauken, N.J.; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be noon, Thursday, Oct. 1, in Peace Lutheran Church located at 5048 Wheatleys Pond Road, Smyrna. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Peace Lutheran Church or to the Alzheimer's Association Delaware Chapter, 100 S. Main St., Suite 211, Smyrna, DE 19977. Arrangements are by Faries Funeral Directors and Crematorium Inc., 29 South Main Street, Smyrna. Condolence letters may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com.
