Frances C. Drummond

ELLENDALE - Frances C. Drummond died Dec. 11, 2010, at Seaford Center, Seaford. She was 84. She was born in Hopeton, Va., on Nov. 4, 1926, to the late Alfred Ewell Sr. and Estella Justice (Hall) Ewell. Frances attended Public School in Accomack County, Va. She was employed at Swift & Company in Georgetown for several years until the plant closing in the late seventies. Frances was a faithful member of Mt. Zion AME Church in Ellendale. She was a member of the Senior Choir, pastors aide committee, and the missionary society at Mt. Zion. She was preceded in death by her dear husband of 51 years, Jesse "Jake" Drummond; brother, Alfred Ewell Jr.; and sister, Elisha Mae Parsons. She leaves to cherish her memory, her brother, Everett B. Dickerson; children, Sarah Williams, Emma Johnson, and Stanford P. Drummond Sr.; two grandchildren that she raised, Robert Drummond Sr. and Michelle Drummond; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010, at Mt. Zion AME Church, Rt. 16, Ellendale. A viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday evening at the church. Interment will be held at Mt. Zion AME Cemetery immediately following services. Arrangements are being handled by McPherson Funeral Home, Milford. Please send flowers to Mt.
