KENNEDYVILLE, Md. - Floyd Willis Price passed away on Nov. 17, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family. Floyd was born on Oct. 11, 1937 in Still Pond, Md., son of the late Floyd Collins and Eva Grace Carter Price. He was raised in Ingleside and was a graduate of the Sudlersville High School Class of 1955. At the age of 15 he began farming and in 1965 moved to Kent County where he tilled the Medders Farms. He purchased the Duck Puddle Farm and Goose Valley Farm and in 1972 purchased property at Harmony Corner and opened Vonnies Restaurant which grew into, a sporting goods and convenience store which he and his family operated for 30 years. Floyd also owned Goose Valley Hunting and Outfitting Service in Kent County and F & M Ranch in Montana. Mr. Price was a member of Double Creek United Methodist Church, the NRA, Betterton Vol. Fire Company, Montana Farm Bureau, Maryland Farm Bureau and was past chairman of the Kent County Planning and Zoning Commission. Floyd enjoyed hunting, farming, ranching, traveling and driving his bulldozers. He loved growing vegetables especially "Sweetie Corn" and his labs. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Price; and two sisters, Lynn Price Gustafson and Eva Lee Newton. Mr. Price is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marilyn Younger Price; three children, Vonnie Price Mills (Eddie) of Kennedyville, Floyd Willis Price, Jr. (Terri) of Galena and Joy Price (James Sample) of Kennedyville; a sister Ann Thorpe of Hurlock, Md.; six grandchildren, Tiffany Renee Mills, Jason Price, Morgan Price Austin, Clint Mills, Joel Haggerty and Cory Haggerty and twin; great-grandchildren, Avery and Jackson Price. Friends may call on Wednesday evening, Nov. 20, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013. Burial in Crumpton Cemetery.
