Floyd A. Thomson

DOVER - Floyd A. Thomson, Jr. passed away Monday, June 9, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. He was 76. He was born on Sept. 23, 1937 in Dover, son of the late Bertie Swiggett Thomson and Floyd A. Thomson, Sr. Floyd served in the National Guards for 18 years. He worked as a contractor and enjoyed traveling, playing music, woodworking and spending time with family. He is preceded in death by daughter, Stephanie Young; brother, Fred Thomson; and two grandsons, Jacob Allen-Thomson and Jason Talemal. Floyd is survived by son, Chuck Thomson and wife Lisa, of Dover; daughter, Amy Allen of Galveston, Texas; companion and very close best friend, Sandra Kennedy of Salisbury, Md.; three sisters, Alberta Curry and husband Wayne, of Smyrna, Theresa Litzel and husband Tim, of Melmont, Pa., and Gerrie Moses and husband Max, of Dover; brother, Michael Thomson, of Portland, Maine; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Rachel Thomson, Justin, Danny and Ryan Young; cousin, Larry Cook of Bridgewater, Va.; many nieces, nephews, close friends, and doggy, Maebelle, and extended loved ones in Salisbury, Md., Lois Dykes, Michael Kennedy, Rodney Kennedy, Suzanne and Kevin Timmons. Visitation will be 4 to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, June 14, 2014, at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming. Service will follow at 5:00 p.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802-1733. Letters of condolences can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com
