Flora Collins Spriggs, 62

DOVER - Flora Collins Spriggs, of Dover, died Thursday May 7, 2009, at Bay Health Medical Center. She was 62. She was born Jan. 17, 1947, in Maryland, daughter of the late Edward and Madeline Collins. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse for twelve years and a Registered Nurse for twenty seven years. She retired from Pediatrics at Bay Health Medical Center. Mrs. Spriggs was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord with all her heart, mind and soul. She was a faithful member of the New Jerusalem Baptist Church, Dover, for over 30 years under the pastorate of the Rev. C.V. Holmes. She was a loving mother, wonderful sister and a devoted friend. She loved to teach Sunday school, attend church and cook. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Madeline Collins; brother, Keith Collins; and daughter, Stephany Foster. She is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Tracy Spriggs of Middletown; her son-in-law, Jerome Foster of Milford; her brother, Wesley Collins of Dallas; two sisters, Mary Cannon of Dover and Valeria Townsend of Stratford, N.J.; her grandchildren, Michael Spriggs, Arielle Foster, Isaiah Spriggs and Brandon Foster; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, May 14, in New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 25 Slaughter St., Dover. Homegoing Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in New Jerusalem Baptist Church, where friends may also call two hours earlier. Burial will be in the Sharon Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover.
