DOVER — A 31-year-old Pennsylvania man was arrested on firearms charges following an incident Wednesday night, Dover Police spokesperson Master Cpl. Ryan Schmid said.
According to police, at 11:13 p.m., members of the Dover Polcie Department’s Street Crimes Unit, in collaboration with Delaware Probation and Parole, contacted Eric Brown, of Philadelphia, in the area of South New Street and West Reed Street, as part of an illegal drug and firearm investigation.
Mr. Brown was taken into custody without incident and found in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun with an extended magazine that had an obliterated serial number, 49 bags of heroin and 5 Levorphanol pills, police said.
Mr. Brown was charged with possession offenses including large capacity magazine, firearm during the commission of a felony, firearm/ammunition by a person prohibited (two counts), with intent to deliver a controlled substance, firearm with an obliterated serial number, and controlled substance, along with carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
Mr. Brown was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $82,401 cash bail.
