Everett R. Johnson

Everett R. Johnson, 71 MAGNOLIA - Everett R. Johnson passed away Monday, Aug. 10, 2009 at Kent General Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on Aug. 24, 1937, son of the late Everett H. and Jewel Johnson. He served his country proudly in the Marine Corp. and later worked at Kraft Foods before going to work at Hartnett and the Overhead Door Company. After a car accident in 1982, he worked for Busch Pool League for 10 years until working for Goodwill Industries for 10 years until his passing. He loved shooting pool, going to the slots and horse races, vacationing in West Virginia, listening to gospel music and spending time with this grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald; his mother-in law Virginia Rainville; and his faithful dog Meeko. He is survived by his loving companion of 23 years, Lois Holland of Magnolia; his step-children, Kimberly Holland of Camden, Jamie Holland of Magnolia, Chris and Terri Holland of Dover; grandsons Damian Murphy of Camden and Christopher Holland Jr., of Dover; and many other people who loved and cared for him. Services were private. Contributions in memory of Everett Johnson may be made to The American Cancer Society.
