GEORGETOWN - Evelyn R. Gregg, 86, of Georgetown, passed away peacefully at home on Nov. 26, 2016. She was the wife of the late Chief Harvey A. Gregg, Jr. Evelyn was born in Millsboro to the late Raymond O. and Clara (Brittingham) Rust. She was employed by Wilmington Trust until retiring in 1995. She enjoyed travelling, playing the piano, and signing. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughters, Connie Lynn Ponce (Brian Pudliner), Julie A. McCabe (Sewall), and Michele R. Handy (Preston); sister, Elaine Hudson (Douglas); grandchildren, Gil Ponce (Renee), Greg Ponce, Jordan McCabe (Katie), Sara Cenci (Collin), Reese Elliott (Stephanie), and Travis Elliott; eleven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Friday, Dec. 2, 2016 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, DE 19947, where friends may call after 1 p.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions in Evelyn's memory can be made to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963 or Georgetown Police Department, 335 N. Race St., Georgetown, DE 19947.
