GEORGETOWN - Evelyn Pauline Mumford, age 85, of Georgetown, passed away Friday, Dec. 9, 2011. She was born February 28, 1926 to the late Alfred and Elizabeth (Collins) Harris, in Easton, Md. She worked as a homemaker for 85 years. Evelyn loved to play cards, sewing and yard work. Most of all, she especially loved children and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Kenneth Mumford, to whom she was married 68 years; and her 11 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her three children, Ellen Neafie, Kenneth Mumford and Lee Brittingham; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011 in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market Street, Georgetown, with visitation after noon. Burial will be in Asbury Cemetery, Georgetown.
