Evelyn M. Holland

DENTON, Md. - Evelyn M. Holland, of Denton, died Saturday, Aug, 14, 2010, at Envoy of Denton. She was 87. Born in Denton on Nov. 3, 1922, Mrs. Holland was the daughter of the late Jesse Lee Reed and Ruth Sullivan Griffith Reed. She had lived in Denton all of her life. Her husband, John C. Holland, died April 5, 1987. Mrs. Holland had been an Aid at the Memorial Hospital in Easton, Md., for twenty years. She had also worked as a line worker at Caroline Poultry. In addition to enjoying her children and grandchildren, she also enjoyed reading. Mrs. Holland is survived by three sons, Joseph Holland and his wife Sandra of Bridgeville, Del., Richard Holland and his wife Kathy of Henderson, Md., Dallas Holland and his wife Lois of Dover, Del.; two daughters, Diane Davis of Jacksonville, Ark., and Phyllis Gale and her husband John of Cordova, Md.; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Frances Thompson; a son, Wayne Holland; and one great-grandson, Christopher Dennis Dill. A funeral service will be noon, Thursday, Aug. 19, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 S. Second Street, in Denton where friends may call one hour before the service. The interment will be in the Denton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests for friends to send memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, 1138 Parsons Road, Salisbury, MD 21801. www.moorefuneralhomepa.com
