MILFORD - Eugenia C. Clendaniel, passed away on July 7, 2012. A graduate of Washington, N.J., High School and the University of Delaware, she retired from the Milford School District, where she taught first grade for much of her career after teaching in the Milford Kindergarten Association's private kindergarten. She was an active member, past president of the Women's Association and a Deacon of the First Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Milford Historical Society, the Shawnee Home Demonstration Club and several bridge clubs. In the 1950s, she expanded the Girl Scout program in Milford and, as a former Girl Scout executive, mentored several troops and organized the summer camp on Haven Lake known as Camp-We-Lovett. She was awarded the Golden Eaglet, the highest Girl Scout award. She was preceded in death by her parents, Brooke R. and Sarah W. Chambers; her husband, Frank Clendaniel, Jr.; a son, George T. Clendaniel; a sister, Helen E. Greene; and a brother, Charles B. Chambers. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy C. and Peter N. DiDomenico, of Mill Valley, Calif.; a son and daughter-in-law, F. Brooke and Deborah W. Clendaniel; a daughter-in-law, Cheryl L. Clendaniel, all of Milford; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Internment in Milford Community Cemetery was private. A memorial service is being planned. Suggestions for memorial contributions to the First Presbyterian Church or Milford Historical Society. Arrangements by Lofland Funeral Home.
