Ethel Jane Jackson, 81 PRICE, Md. - Ethel Jane Jackson, 81 of Price, died Dec. 26, 2009, at her daughter's home in Hartley. Mrs. Jackson was born May 30, 1928, in Greensboro, daughter of the late Lester Earl Smith, Sr. and Dorothy Mae Andrews Smith. In addition to her parents, her husband Denny A. Jackson of 63 years; her sisters, Audrey Mae Kemp and Shirley Elizabeth Wilson preceded her in death. Mrs. Jackson worked at a furniture store in Centreville, and owned and operated Denny and Jane's truck stop in Price. She is survived by her sister, Betty Ann Smith and her husband Frank of Crumpton; her brother, Lester Earl Smith Jr., and his wife Bertha of Salisbury; two daughters, Sara Jane Brill and her husband Gerry of Hartly, Del., and Diane Harchar and her husband Michael of Youngstown, Ohio; three grandchildren, Brian Patrick Hicks of Denver, Colo., Stephanie Danielle Harchar of Youngstown, Ohio, and Jennifer Lynn Brill of Hartly. Mrs. Jackson's interest were dancing, listening to country music, painting ceramics, doing crossword puzzles, canning vegetables from her garden, and she loved family gatherings. A compassionate woman and a loving wife, mother and grandmother, she will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. Funeral Service will be noon, Tuesday, Dec. 29, in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Mrs. Jackson will be laid to rest in Crumpton Cemetery next to her husband Denny.
