Esther Virginia Martin, 63 MILLINGTON, Md. - Esther Virginia Martin, of Millington, died Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, at her home after a 5 year battle with cancer. She was 63. Mrs. Martin was born July 14, 1945, in Tilghman, the daughter of the late Rev. Issac Wesley Wallace and Mabel "Green" Wallace. She graduated from Kennard High School in Centreville. She worked for Campbell Soup and then Chestertown Food for over 15 years. Mrs. Martin was an active member of Graves Chapel U.M.A.E Church in Millington. She enjoyed singing and was the choir leader at church. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Nelson Martin of Millington; two daughters, Regina L. Martin of Millington, and Romaine T. Johnson of Grasonville; three sisters, Juanita Gibson of Federalsburg, Mary Thompson of Cambridge, and Ruth Elliot of Cambridge; two brothers, Bradford Newman of Cordova, and Monroe Wallace of Salisbury; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Graves Chapel U.M.A.E. Church, Big Stone Road, Millington. A visitation will be held two hours prior. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to the Millington Vol. Fire Company, P.O. 255 Millington, MD 21651; or American Caner Society Eastern Shore Chapter, 1358 Parsons Road, Salisbury, MD 21801.
