Esther P. Hynson

DOVER - Esther P. Hynson passed away Sunday May 18, 2014 at Westminster Village Nursing Home. Mrs. Hynson was born Sept. 8, 1908 in Cheswold, Delaware to the late Claude H. Pearson and Anna Tigner. She graduated from Dover High School in 1926, and from the University of Delaware in 1930. After 37 ½ years, most notably in the Smyrna School District, she retired as a teacher. Mrs. Hynson was a member of the Cheswold United Methodist Church, and played the church organ for 40 years. She enjoyed family dinners, the beach, reading, traveling, and her grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin Franklin Hynson; brother Leroy Pearson; and sister, Anna Hogarth. She is survived by her daughters, Anne H. Thompson and husband George of Harrisburg, PA, and Susan H. Christine and husband Al of Smyrna; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Thursday May 22, 2014 at 12 noon at Lakeside Cemetery, N. State Street, Dover. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Cheswold United Methodist Church, PO Box 191., Cheswold, DE 19936.
