Estella Mae Walters Hopkins

Bridgeville – Estella Mae Walters Hopkins departed this life on Sunday, March 5, 2017, at her son's residence in Seaford.
Born in Bridgeville, she was the daughter of the late Lemuel F. Walters and Helen Mae Walters Clayton. Her husband, Herman Wesley Hopkins, also preceded her in death in 1998. Mrs. Hopkins was a member of Clarence Street Church of God in Seaford. She served as an usher and member of the Women's Choir and Ladies Willing Workers Board. For most of her life, she worked as a domestic and a laborer at a local manufacturing company.
She will be lovingly remembered by: three sons, Charles A. Hopkins, James W. (Diane) Hopkins, and William E. Hopkins; three daughters, Norma L. Hopkins, Linda L. Fielder, and Ruby J. Drayton; one goddaughter, Felicia Bailey; 22 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Helen M. Hammond.
Mrs. Hopkins will lie in repose on Saturday, March 11, 2017, from 1 to 2 PM at Clarence Street Church of God, 744 Clarence Street, Seaford. The funeral service will begin at 2 PM. Bishop Carlton Cannon, Sr. will be the Officiating Pastor. Interment will follow at Middleford Cemetery, Middleford. A ministry of comfort and dignity is being provided by Lewis N.
