Ernest Darby Homewood, 93

FLAGLER BEACH, Fla. - Ernest Darby Homewood, of Flagler Beach, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2008, at his home. He was 93.

Mr. Homewood was born Dec. 29, 1914, in Frederica, Del., son of the late Ernest and Grace (Darby) Homewood.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard.

Mr. Homewood was a self-employed businessman for many years, obtaining the necessary tags and titles for car dealerships in the Baltimore area. He also spent some time as a developer in the Dewey Beach, Del., area.

He and his wife moved to Florida after he retired from the business nearly 24 years ago.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Evelyn W. Homewood; a daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Robert Nolker of Baltimore; a brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Eleanor Homewood of Felton, Del.; a sister and brother-in-law, Jeanne and Gordon Warner of Seaford, Del.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.

Burial will follow the service.

Arrangements handled by Rogers Funeral Home, Milford, Del.
