Emma Regina Adkins Emma Regina Adkins was born on October 10, 1959 in Dover, DE to Edith Mae Adkins (Lewis) and Elmer Adkins. Emma grew up in the Capital School District and graduated from Kent Vo Tech. She went on to receive an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice from Delaware Technical and Community College. Emma was a longtime member of Victory Church under the leadership of Pastor Robert Appling. Emma spent her professional career working in social services, as well as caring for developmentally disabled clients. Emma enjoyed art, writing poetry, spending time with family, giving life advice, reading the Bible, and singing. She truly loved God. Charles Stanley was her favorite preacher, and she liked listening to the Smile remix by Kirk Franklin. Emma was a devoted and wonderful mother, sister, aunt and friend. Emma passed away at BayHealth Medical Center on Friday, June 7, 2024 surrounded by her loving daughter and family. Emma was preceded in death by her parents, Edith and Elmer Adkins; two sons, Kenji and Damian Adkins; her sisters; Mary and Janell Adkins; and her brother Oscar Adkins. Emma leaves to cherish her life and fond memories with her daughter, Charmaine "Nikki" Adkins of Dover, DE; sisters, Vivian Adkins and Sharon Cannon of Dover, DE, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A graveside service was held Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Barratts Chapel Cemetery in Frederica, DE.
