Elwood R. Wilkins

LINCOLN - Elwood R. "Butch" Wilkins, Jr. died, Saturday, May 24, 2014 at the Delaware Hospice Center. He is the son of the late Elwood Wilkins. Sr. and Grace Louise Donovan Wilkins, and was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene "Gene" Wilkins. Butch served in the US Navy and was proud to be a veteran. He was an avid outdoorsman's loving fishing, hunting and crabbing. He sold building and lumber materials for many years in the Milford area, working for Masten's Lumber Company and Key Building Supplies. He was gifted with the ability to perform carpenter work and make it look so easy. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Marconi Wilkins; one daughter, Karla S. Wilkins; and five siblings, Elizabeth Schrock, Alice Ross, Barbara Moore, Sara Tuckerand Ralph Wilkins. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m., Friday morning in the chapel of Berry Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front Street, Milford, DE 19963; where friends may call on Thursday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for a viewing. Interment will be Delaware Veterans Cemetery Millsboro, DE. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, Delaware 19963.
