BOWERS BEACH - Elsie Schwindt Paolini, died Wednesday, May 27, 2009, in Newton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Sanford, Maine. She was 84. Mrs. Paolini was born in Philadelphia, Pa., the daughter of the late Karl and Meta (Thomas) Schwindt, and sister to the late Louis Schwindt. Elsie attended Felton High School then graduated from Yeadon High School, Yeadon, Pa. She was a welder during World War II, became a hairdresser soon after the war, and obtained her LPN nursing license in 1975. She and her late husband, Charles moved from Sewell, N.J. to Bowers Beach in 1985. She was a member of the Trinity Wesleyan Church in Dover. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles U. Paolini in 1992. She is survived by her son, Karl W. Paolini, of Camden-Wyoming; two daughters, Dr. Charlotte A. Paolini of Biddeford, Maine, and Kristine P. Keiser of Chesapeake, Va.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Ave., Milford, where friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2009 and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2009. Burial will be in Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Bay Road, Frederica. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Hospice of Southern Maine, 180 U.S. Rt. 1, Scarborough, ME 04074.
