Elmer Deane Taylor

SALISBURY, Md. - Elmer Deane Taylor, 75, of Salisbury, and formerly of Lewes, Del., passed away on Friday, March 25, 2016 at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Born at Public Landing, Md., he was the son of the late Ernest Finwood Taylor and Eriszenia Faye Sines Weichmann and step-son of the late Lavearn Weichmann. Known to his friends as Deane, he attended Delmar Schools until he joined the US Army. He was injured in Dec. of 1964 and discharged in July of 1965 as a D.A.V. He attended the Lewes Church of Christ before moving to Salisbury, where he became a member of the Salisbury Baptist Temple. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Mary Martha Bennett Taylor; two daughters and four grandchildren from a previous marriage; two sisters, Jean E. Miller of Salisbury and Denise Bowen of Winter Haven, Fla.; and four brothers, John Taylor of Summerdale, Ala., Dale Taylor of Salisbury, Robert Weichmann of Fayetteville, N.C., Wayne Weichmann of Pocomoke. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Taylor in 2004; a child he and Mary were raising, Christel in 2006; and a brother, Robert Lee Taylor. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Salisbury Baptist Temple with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor's Carlo Leto and Oren Perdue will officiate.
