MILLINGTON, Md. - Ellen Parks Lane, of Millington, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008, in her home. She was 70. Mrs. Lane was born on June 26, 1938, in Easton, daughter of the late Charles O. and Emma Louise Parrott Parks. She had worked as a school bus driver in the Kent County area, the church secretary for Asbury U.M. Church, and for 10 years she owned a craft business making folk crafts, dolls and needlework. For the last 14 years she was employed with the Kent County Register of Wills Office in Chestertown, currently as the Senior Deputy Registrar. Her memberships include Asbury United Methodist Church and the Upper Shore Genealogy Society. Mrs. Lane was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, David C. Lane in 2006; and son, Michael Lane. She is survived by three children, David Carl Lane Jr. and his wife Karla of Otto, N.C., D. Craig Lane and his wife Victoria of Knightdale, N.C., and Karen L. Delfavero and her husband Joseph of Saltsburg, Pa.; three brothers, Ellis and Keith Parks both of Easton, and Stephen Parks of Long Island, N.Y.; a sister, Nancy Webster of Raleigh, N.C.; and three grandchildren, Ashley, Caleb and Joshua. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Asbury United Methodist Church, Millington. Burial will be held privately in Woodlawn Cemetery, Easton. Memorials may be offered to Asbury U.M. Church, P.O. Box 187, Millington, MD 21651. Arrangements by Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech.
