Tribbitt, 88 LINCOLN - Elizabeth Naomi Tribbitt passed away Monday, Dec. 22, 2014. She was born in Milford on Dec. 17, 1926, daughter of the late Louder S. and Ellen M. (Matlack) Betts. Mrs. Tribbitt was employed in several different departments over her 25 years with General Foods in Dover, and retired from the company in 1979. Naomi was involved with many community organizations. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Blue Hen VFW Post #6483, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #7, a charter member of the Milford Moose Lodge #2316, a member of the Milford Elks Lodge #2401, the Loyal Order of Redman Pocahontas, the American Clown Association, the Frederica Senior Center, and the Harrington Senior Center. Naomi also enjoyed going to the annual Clam Jam event where the attendees were jokingly referred to as the "Chowderheads". She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Frederica and the Slaughter Neck United Methodist Church in Milford. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tribbitt was preceded in death by her husband, John "Jack" R. Tribbitt; a son, William Tribbitt; three brothers, Mert Betts, Benjamin Betts, and Gordon Betts; and two sisters, Emma Mitten and Louise Gannon. She is survived by two sons, John R. Tribbitt, Jr. of Lincoln, and David Tribbitt of Slaughter Beach; a daughter, Ruth Hopkins and her companion Frank Miller of Lincoln; five grandchildren, J. Robin Jackson, Michelle L. Delosier, Bridget Bradley, Pamela A. Hopkins-Wells, and Jamie A. Hopkins; seven great-grandchildren, Leslie, Cody, Haley, Chase, Jordan, Robby, and Parker; and three great-great grandchildren, Cash, Jackson, and Chance. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014 at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford, where friends may call after 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow the services in Barratts Chapel Cemetery, 6486 Bay Rd, Frederica. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to Trinity United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 4, Frederica, DE, 19946. Condolences may be emailed to rogersfh@del.net
