Elizabeth (Lib) M. Clendaniel MILFORD - Elizabeth (Lib) M. Clendaniel, age 88, died peacefully on April 12, 2010, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. Born on June 18, 1921, to the late Fred and Olivia Mitchell of Milton, she was one of seven siblings, a mother of two, and a retired secretary from the Cape Henlopen School District Office. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, James C. Clendaniel of Milton; her granddaughter, Vanessa Redefer; and her two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Emily Redefer; as well as two of her sisters, many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased in death by her two children, Lois C. Cordrey and James Clendaniel. Lib thoroughly enjoyed time spent with her family and friends. She was very active in her community and church. She was an avid gardener with her yard being on display many times for Milton's annual garden tour. Lib loved long walks through town, sewing, reading, cooking, and playing bridge. A memorial service will be 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 21, at The Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist, Milton, where she was a member for many years. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Altzeimer's Association, 399 Market St., Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106 or Delaware Hospice, 3515 Silverside Rd, Wilmington, DE 19810. Arrangements handled by Short Funeral Services, Milton.
