Elizabeth (Libby) F. Arnell passed away in Bonita Springs, Fla. on January 21, 2022, following a brief illness. She was born on December 10, 1940 in Dover, Del., the daughter of the late George M. Fisher, III and Ruth Fisher (Trumbauer). In addition to her parents; Libby was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall P. Arnell; and her brother, George M. Fisher, IV.
Libby was raised in Dover and spent most of her life in Delaware. She was a graduate of Dover High School and attended the University of Delaware. During the time she was raising her own family, Libby worked as a registrar for two private college preparatory schools and as a real estate agent. She and her late husband, Marshall, retired early (1998) and thereafter spent several happy years together traveling and splitting their time between Dover and Bonita Springs. Shortly after her husband's death in 2011, Libby moved full time to Bonita Springs where she continued to enjoy spending her time visiting and hosting friends and family, traveling, reading, doing volunteer work at the Bonita Springs Lions Club, and playing with her dogs, Bella and Daisy.
Libby is survived by her three sons, Dr. Tim Brown and his wife Bonnie of Methuen, Mass., Todd Brown of Nags Head, N.C., Chris Brown and his wife Stacy of Wake Forest, N.C.; her daughter and caregiver, Amy Brown of Fort Myers, Fla.; her stepson, Harry Arnell and his wife Teresa of Elk Grove, Calif.; her grandchildren, Troy Brown of Wake Forest, N.C., Allison Beaudry and Kiera Arnell of Elk Grove, Calif., Greg Conklin and his wife Caitlin of Katy, Texas, Nick Conklin and his wife Jess of Atlanta, Ga.; and four great-grandchildren.
Libby was also blessed with a lifetime of many dear friends: Marilyn and Matt Spong, Jeanne and Paul Boswell, Nancy McClements, Nancy Records, Anna Boyce, Patti Miller, Mark and Susan Weeks, Marilyn and Joe DeCarli, Linda McDonough, and cousin Molly Balog ("if I have forgotten anyone, please know you were loved and appreciated").
A private memorial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Libby's name can be made to the Humane Society of Naples, Fla. (https://hsnaples.app.neoncrm.com/np/clients/hsnaples/donation.jsp), or Joanne's House at Hope Hospice of Bonita Springs, Fla. (https://donate.hopehcs.org/).
