MILFORD - Elizabeth Ann Whaley, of Milford, died on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, at Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. She was 68. She was born in Philadelphia, the daughter of the late Robert and Florence Fearnside McConaghy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George D. Whaley. She was a seamstress for Milford Stitching Company for many years. She attended Eagles Nest Fellowship Church in Milton and was a member of Lady of the Elks, she also volunteered at Crossroads. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra D. Covert and her husband Scott D. of Milford; sister, Christine Lundy of Milford; brother, James McConaghy of Milford; niece, Diane Barnard of Milford; nephews, Jack Strader of Greenwood, Randall Strader of Kennett Square, Pa., Matthew McConaghy of Milford; and great-niece, Cassie McConaghy of Milford. A funeral service will be 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 29, in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, where friends may call after 6 p.m. Burial will be private. Contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
