BRIDGEVILLE - Elijah Joseph Harris, of Bridgeville, died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, at his place of resident. He was 59. He was born Oct. 24, 1949, in Lincoln, the son of late Charles F. and Olive Dolbow Harris. Mr. Harris proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp. He loved his children and grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Harris; a step-son, Shawn A. Starkey Sr.; and a nephew, Mark E. Harris. He is survived by a son, Dusty J. Harris of Laurel; five grandchildren, Dylan L. Harris, Jade M. Harris, Connor A. Marvil, Shawn A Starkey Jr., and Cheyenne N. Starkey; two brothers, Robert and Martin Harris; two sisters, Ruby Donovan and her husband Arthur, and Sarah H. Pauley; his former wife, Anita F. Orendorf; and nieces and nephews. Interment and Memorial services with military honors will be 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 4, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966. Arrangements by Fleischauer Funeral Home, Greenwood.
