MILFORD - Eleanor P. Bradley, of Milford, passed away Monday, April 11, 2011, at Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. She was 77. Mrs. Bradley was a wonderful homemaker. She was well known for her high energy level, having a strong will, and highly independent personality. She has been a member of the Milford Church of the Nazarene since the early 1950's, where she was very active. She was a wonderful Christian woman that dedicated her life to serving the Lord. Her service to the Lord led her to belong to the Ladies Auxiliary of the Gideon's International, Kent South Camp. Her passion was cooking and gardening and yard work. She was well known for her famous down home cooking. Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting and knitting. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who always put her family first. Her family and church family will forever miss her caring but spunky presence. In addition to her parents, Virgil and Pauline Slaughter, she was preceded in death by husband, Charles A. Bradley; son, Ronald C. Bradley; brother, David J. Slaughter; and sister, June L. Dykstra. She is survived by a son, Dale Bradley of Milford; daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Ken Draper of Vineland, N.J.; brother, Leon Slaughter of Slaughter Beach; sister, Bernice Wilson of Bridgeville; grandchildren, Kyle Bradley, Chase Kielbasa, Dakota Kielbasa, and Morgan Draper. Services will be 2 p.m., Monday, April 18, 2011, in Milford Church of the Nazarene, where a visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Milford Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Gideon's International, Kent South Camp, PO Box 56, Harrington, DE 19952, for memorial Bibles. Arrangements are by the Melvin Funeral Home, visit our website at www.melvinfuneralhome.com for further information, leave a letter of condolence, or to send flowers.
