Eleanor M. Goggin, 73

CLAYTON - Eleanor M. Goggin, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008, in the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. She was 73. Mrs. Goggin was born Sept. 24, 1935 in Elkton, Md., to the late Benjamin M. Husfeld and Bertha Diefenderfer Hosfelt. She was the manager of the Dover Dollar General for almost thirty years and retired in the early nineties. She was an avid bowler in the Dover area and a fan of N.A.S.C.A.R. Her favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt Sr. Mrs. Goggin was preceded in death by a son, Robert Franklin in 1972. She is survived by a son, David Franklin of Elkton, Md.; two daughters, Rose Briggs, of Cobleskill, N.Y., and Deborah Franklin, of Tampa, Fla.; seven step-children; a brother, David Husfelt, of Newark, N.J.; two sisters, Ethel Ambagais, of Pa., and Bertha Forshey, of Magnolia; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, 2008 at the Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, where friends may call one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorial contributions, in Eleanor's name, be sent to the American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, Suite 205, New Castle, DE 19720, and note that the contribution is to go for Breast Cancer Awareness.
