Eleanor B. Semans

MILFORD - Eleanor B. Semans passed away Wednesday May 28, 2014 at Bayhealth in Milford. Mrs. Semans was the daughter of the late J. Stanley and Jessie (Cannon) Brown. She was a charter and life member of the Women of the Moose, Harrington Chapter 1229. She served as a Senior Regent from 1964 to 1965. In 1968, she received her Regents Degree and was Decorating Chairman for 29 years. Mrs. Semans also liked flower gardening and was a member of the Houston UM Church. She was a loving and caring sister and aunt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Semans; brothers, John L. Brown, P. Donald Brown; sisters, Lucille Polk, Frances B. Lundy; and close friend, Frank Rothermel. She is survived by her sister, Doris B. Townsend of Milford; nephews, Roger Mears, Donald Mears, Wayne Brown, Glenn Brown, and Chris Brown; nieces, Barbara Dennis, Deborah Zimmerman, and Donna Brown; and sister-in-law, Betty Lou Brown. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday June 2, 2014 in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, DE 19963. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
