GRAND ISLAND, NY - Elaine Hardy, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008, in her home. She was 52. Mrs. Hardy was born Sept. 13, 1956 in Newark, N.J., the daughter of Elaine C. Turlik Gerres, of Clayton, and the late John Petro Jr. In addition to her mother, Elaine is survived by a daughter, Marcie Williams, of Wilmington; a son, Aaron Williams, of Hockessin; three sisters, Debbie Riker and her husband Robert, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Diann Whiteside, of Newark, and Joan Akers and her husband Bill, of Dade City, Fla.; two brothers, David Petro and his wife Cheri, of Salyorsburg, Pa., and John Petro and his wife Mary, of Clayton; her special friend with whom she lived, Steven Jojic, of Grand Island, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009 in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, where friends may call one hour prior to the services. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by Faries Funeral Directors and Crematorium Inc., 29 S. Main St., Smyrna. Letters of condolence may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com.
