MILLSBORO - Elaine Elizabeth Casale, of Millsboro, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2008, at home. She was 79.
She was born on May 31, 1928, in Paterson, N.J., to the late Thomas and Isabella (Yarton) Hood.
Ms. Casale worked on an assembly line constructing brake assemblies many years ago.
She was very involved with her family and friends, who were the love of her life.
Ms. Casale worked as a CHEER volunteer for as long as she could before her illness.
She loved having her nieces from Jersey down, loved "colorful" jokes, was the life of the party, and always loved having a good time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Phillip Hood and Thomas Hood Jr.; and one sister, Adelaide Gibson.
Ms. Casale is survived by two sons, Michael Casale and his wife Lisa of Dagsboro and Robert D. Freeland and his wife Diana of Sonoma, Calif.; one sister, Muriel Phillips of Oakland, N.J.; four grandchildren, Michael and Garrett Casale and Bobby and Lilly Freeland; three great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and her beloved canine, Dee Dee.
Services will be noon Thursday in the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call one hour prior.
Chaplain Courtney Mys, Delaware Hospice Chaplain, will officiate.
Interment will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Del. 26, east of Dagsboro.
Instead of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963, in memory of Elaine Casale.
