Edwin Merritt Williams, 98 SEAFORD - Edwin Merritt Williams, age 98, of Seaford, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, in Atria Assisted Living, Salisbury, Md. Born in Seaford the son of the late Susie Friedel and Levin A. Williams, Sr., he was a farmer. Edwin was a member of Cannon United Methodist Church, Cannon, the Farm Bureau, Delmarva Sportsmens Club, Civil Air Patrol, and a 4H Leader. He is survived by a son, Kenneth R. Williams and wife Lana of Seaford; a brother, Levin A. Williams Jr. of Seaford; two sisters, Sturgis Lowe of Seaford, and Verna Workman of Georgetown; three grandchildren, four great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Elizabeth James Williams. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Wednesday Jan. 20, in Watson-Yates Funeral Home, Front and King streets, Seaford, where friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. prior to the services. Rev. Martha Callaway will officiate. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Seaford. The family request contributions to Cannon United Methodist Church, 7314 Cannon Road, Bridgeville, DE 19933; or to Coastal Hospice P.O. Box 1733 Salisbury, MD 21802.
