SEAFORD - Edward W. Neal, of Seaford, formerly of Denton, Md., died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010, in Memorial Hospital at Easton. He was 89. Born on Sept. 19, 1920, in Denton, Mr. Neal was the son of the late Wingate Neal and Edna Elizabeth Vickery Neal. His wife, Ethel Virginia Neal died July 11, 1993. Mr. Neal was a 1938 graduate of Caroline High School in Denton. He farmed in Caroline County and worked at Caroline Poultry for nine years. During World War II, he had worked with Civil Defense. He was owner and operator of Mid City Service in Denton for nine years before retiring in 1982. Mr. Neal is survived by two sons, William E. Neal of Princess Anne, Md., and John F. Neal and his wife Anna of Bridgeville; four daughters, Pamela Trice and her husband Jerry of Denton, Judy Morris and her husband James of Greenwood, Joyce Blizzard and her husband James of Cordova, Md., and Joan E. Cunningham and her husband Robert of Montello, Ind; 15 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Mike Gates. He was predeceased by one brother, William Neal; and four sisters, Anna Lee, Elizabeth Allen, Margaret F. Neal, and Mary C. Neal. A funeral service will be noon, Sept. 3, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 South Second Street, Denton, where friends may call one hour before the service. The interment will be in Concord Cemetery in Federalsburg, Md.
