Edward V. Dodd Jr., 79 CAMDEN - Edward V. Dodd Jr., of Camden, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008, at his home. He was 79. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Edward and Helen (Jollon) Dodd. Edward was a Korean War Army Veteran and had worked as an insurance underwriter until his retirement in 1994. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Thomas E. Dodd in 2000. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Connelly Dodd of Camden; three sisters, Sr. Helen Edward, D.C. of Albany, N.Y., Ann Dooling and her husband John of Alton, Ill., and Joan Pool and her husband Zadoc "Bill" of Dover; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today at the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St., Dover. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Holy Cross Church, S. State St., Dover. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. The family suggests donations in his memory be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Hwy., Dover, DE 19901.
