DOVER - Edward J. Romanoski of Dover died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012 at home. He was 84. He was born March 30, 1927 in Shamokin, Pa. to the late John and Anna Guzewski Romanoski. Mr. Romanoski served in the US Navy from 1944-46, and worked in Pennsylvania coal mines from 1947-53. He was a member of Teamsters Local 107 and Local 326 Wilmington, for 30 years. He drove for various freight delivery trucking companies, before joining Baker Drive Away in Newark Del., where he spent the next 25 years, and 3 years with Trinity Paving Company, until his retirement. He was a life member of the American Legion Walter L. Fox Post #2, the Del Vets, and the Camden-Wyoming Moose. He was also a member of Holy Cross Church in Dover. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley in 2004; four brothers, Frank, Joseph, Michael and William Romanoski; four sisters, Betty Romanoski, Florence Fisher, Anna Ferrari, and Mary Mushinskie. Mr. Romanoski is survived by three sons, E. David and wife Patricia of Hockessin, Dennis and wife Betty of Odessa, and Jeffrey and wife DebbieSue of Townsend; brother, Pete of Cleveland, Ohio; and sister, Nellie Shinskie of Shamokin, Pa.; and eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012 in Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State Street, Dover. Friends may call at the church one hour prior. Interment will be in Sharon Hills Cemetery, Dover. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Harvest Years Senior Center, 30 South St., Camden, DE 19934.
