Edward Howard Wagner, 84 FREDERICA - Edward Howard Wagner, died Wednesday, January 13, 2010, in Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. He was 84. Mr. Wagner was born February 16, 1925 in Philadelphia, Pa., to the late Howard B. Wagner and Sarah A. Longstreth Wagner. He served in the United States Navy during World War II Pacific Theater. After the service he worked for Sun Oil as a Unit Refinery Supervisor for 32 years. He enjoyed sports cars, golfing, swimming, sailing and attending church. In Mr. Wagner's recent years, along with his wife, he most enjoyed being a care giver of the elderly. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Decker Wagner. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Bonnie Brittain Wagner of Frederica; two stepsons, John Greene of Felton and David Emswiler of Cypress, Texas; three stepdaughters, Laurel Hoobler of Auburndale, Fla., Doreen Webb of Seaford, and Dianne Whitby of Wyoming; and grandchildren, John, Kevin, Dawn and Daniel Greene, Alicia (Emswiler) Mersiovsky and Matthew Emswiler, Jim, Bob and Linda Hoobler, Doug, Ronnie and Andy Webb, and Emily (Whitby) Ball and Jay Whitby. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt. 10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be private in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Hwy., Dover, DE 19901. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
