Edward F. Weaver Sr., 76 SMYRNA - Edward F. Weaver Sr., died Wednesday, February 10, 2010, in the Milford Hospice Center. He was 76. Born in Elkton, Md., he was the son of the late Philmore and Alice Boyer Weaver. Mr. Weaver was a Korean War Veteran who had served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He had worked as an electrician for most of his life and had been associated with Tudor Electric of Dover, Atlas Electric of Newark, Johnson Electric of Smyrna, and during the Race Season he worked for Dover Motor Sports for over 10 years. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4182, where he had served as a Past Grand Knight. He was also a 4th degree member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Assembly, member of the Korean War Association, Disabled American Veterans and a 42 year member of Holy Cross Church, where he served on the Counting Committee for 22 years. While in the Marines he had played Soccer on a European International Team. He enjoyed all sports and especially the times spent playing and or watching his grandchildren play sports. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Herbert; and his sister, Betty Manley. Edward leaves his wife of 54 years, F. Marie (Martin) Weaver of Smyrna; his children, Edward (Frank) Weaver Jr. and wife, Terri of Marydel, Karen A. Kelly and husband, Roland (R.W.) of Camden, Barbara J. Dunning and husband, Lawrence (Larry) of Felton, and Laura M. Pajerowski and husband, Robert (Bob) of Smyrna; his sister, Lois LeBresco and husband, Joseph of Malvern, Pa.; grandchildren, Kenneth and wife, Jenifer, Eddie and wife, Mandy, Robbie, Kevin and fiancé, Nikki, Ryan and fiancé, Kari, Carolyn and boyfriend, Leroy, Donnie, Ronnie, Danny, and Catherine; and great-grandchildren, Zachary, Aiden, Ethyn, Eden, and Kevin. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Sunday, at the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St., Dover. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10 a.m. Monday, in Holy Cross Catholic Church, S. State St., Dover. Burial will be at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.
