Edna Mae Cooper

MILFORD - Edna Mae Cooper, of Dover, formerly of Milford, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, Nov. 15, 2010. She was 86. Edna Mae was born on Aug. 25, 1924, in Key West, Fla., and moved to Milford in 1953. She lived in Milford until 2008 when she moved to Dover. She was a member of the Milford Senior Center for over 30 years. Mrs. Cooper was preceded in death by her first husband, Michael J. Abella; and her second husband, Elijah John Cooper. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael L. and Vernell Abella of Dover; two grandchildren, Melody Abella and her husband Brian Wyatt of Arlington, Va., and Dr. Holly Abella Smith and her husband Michael of Magnolia; and a great-granddaughter, Faith Annabella Smith. Services were 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave., Milford, where friends called one hour prior. Burial was held in the Milford Community Cemetery on Route 113. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to the Milford Senior Center, 111 Park Ave, Milford, DE 19963. Condolences may be emailed at www.delmarvaobits.com/rogers.
