Edith M. Focht

Edith M. Focht, 80 CLAYTON - Edith M. Focht, of Clayton, formerly of Dover, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010. She was 80. Mrs. Focht was born Dec. 31, 1929, in Tylertown, Miss., to the late James and Juanita Ethridge. Mrs. Focht worked as a Registered Nurse for many years retiring from the Delaware Home for the Chronically Ill in Smyrna. She was a long time member of the Dover Church of Christ and enjoyed volunteering her time with the related church activities. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in 1996, Robert Focht, Sr.; two brothers; and one sister. Mrs. Focht is survived by three sons, Robert L. Focht, Jr. of Louisiana, Dennis E. Focht of California, and Michael L. Focht of Dover; two daughters, Cheryl D. Keleher with whom she lived in Clayton, and Leslie K. Brooke of Mississippi; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and several cousins. Services and burial will be at the convenience of the family. In memory of Mrs. Focht, the family suggests contributions be made to Seasons Hospice 220 Contiental Drive, Suite 101 Newark, DE 19713. Arrangements are by Faries Funeral Directors and Crematorium, Inc., 29 South Main Street, Smyrna. Letters of condolence may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com.
