Earle W. Norman

FELTON - Earle W. Norman, Sr., 87 of Felton died peacefully, surrounded by his family, Oct. 23, 2013 at Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, Del. He was born, April 17, 1926, in Washington, N.J., the son of the late William and Ada Whitmore Norman. He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He moved to Delaware and lived in Milton prior to moving to Felton. He retired in 1984 as a Control Room Operator, for the City of Dover Power Plant. He was a member of the Harrington VFW Post 6921, and American Legion Post 7, and also attended the Modern Maturity Center in Dover. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeannette Vockel Norman; daughter, Sherri Sheldon; brother, Harold Norman; and one grandson. He is survived by three children, Brian Norman, Elana Donophan and Earle W. Norman, Jr.; two step daughters, Donna Aliff and Debra Paxton; three sisters, Maxine Radcliffe, Alda Mansov, Donna Armstrong; 14 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Interment will be held Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966. Arrangements handled by Berry Short Funeral Home, Felton, DE.
