Drumgoole, Jr. becomes third Delaware player in transfer portal

NEWARK — The NCAA Transfer Portal can be a two-way street.

Today, according to the website Verbal Commits, Delaware basketball player Gerald Drumgoole, Jr. entered the portal after transferring from Albany just a year ago.

The 6-foot-5 guard has already been at Pittsburgh, meaning his next destination will be the fourth school he’s played at. He hasn’t posted anything about entering the portal on his X page.

Drumgoole, Jr. would be the third Delaware player to go into the portal this off-season, joining standout Jyare Davis and reserve Wes Peterson.

In his last two games with the Blue Hens, Drumgoole, Jr. netted 17 and 23 points in the CAA Tournament. He reached double figures in 24 games, averaging 13.9 points and 3.8 rebounds per game.

Hornets have four in portal: Delaware State now reportedly has five players in the transfer portal.

Reserve guard Cameron Stitt was the latest Hornet to join a group that includes Devin Muniz, Wesley Oba and Khyrie Statten, who all plan to transfer.

Veteran Martaz Robinson, who was originally reported to be leaving DSU, is currently still with the Hornets.

Delaware State reached the MEAC Tournament title game and played in the College Basketball Invitational this season.
