Drivers set to rumble in state fair demolition derby

LAST MAN (OR WOMAN) STANDING
The annual Demolition Derby at the Delaware State Fair in Harrington will bring crumpled fenders and smoking engines to the front stretch of the horse-racing track at the M&T Bank Grandstand at 7 p.m. July 18. The fan favorite features multiple classes, such as compact cars, trucks and SUVs. Tickets are $27-$29.

FAMILY FUN
CHRISTMAS IN JULY
Townsend’s 3 Palms Zoo & Education Center, 1060 Vandyke Greenspring Road, is hosting its new Christmas in July celebration from 7-9 p.m. July 18-19 and July 25-26. Witness the wonder of Christmas on the farm, an ice-cream-and-candy cottage and other displays illuminated by a sea of patriotic lights. Tickets are $6.

LIFE'S A BEACH
Miles Beach, presented by Visit Delaware, will deposit more than an acre of sand and beach life to the Fan Zone at Dover Motor Speedway during NASCAR race weekend, July 18-20. The location will host numerous concerts, a sandcastle contest, food and beverage trucks, the world’s largest rubber duck and more. It is free to visit. The speedway is at 1131 N. Dupont Highway.

NASHVILLE VISITS HARRINGTON
Country singers Riley Green and Lauren Watkins will kick off this year’s live concerts at the Delaware State Fair on July 19 at the M&T Bank Grandstand. The show begins at 7:30 p.m., and tickets are $83-$108.

MUSIC
THE ’90s ARE CALLING
Blues Traveler, the Spin Doctors and the Gin Blossoms — popular bands that scored numerous hits during the 1990s — will team up for a triple billing at the Delaware State Fair’s M&T Bank Grandstand at 6:30 p.m. July 21. Tickets are $59-$93.

MUSIC
ROLL WITH THE CHANGES
Kevin Cronin, the former lead singer of REO Speedwagon, brings his new touring group — the Kevin Cronin Band — to the Freeman Arts Pavilion in Selbyville at 7 p.m. July 22. The group will perform REO hits such as “Keep On Loving You” and “Can’t Fight This Feeling.” Tickets are $59-$99, plus fees. The Freeman stage is at 31806 Lake View Drive.
