FELTON - An 80-year-old Felton man died Sunday from injuries suffered in a two vehicle crash four days earlier, Delaware State Police said.

Vaughn Wootten was driving a Dodge Ram that was struck by a Ford F-250 at a four way intersection on Del. 15 (Canterbury Road) at approximately 11:34 a.m., according to spokeswoman Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe. He was wearing a seatbelt and transported to Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital before being transferred to Christiana Hospital.

The Ford driver, a 50-year-old Clayton man, was wearing a seatbelt and released from Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital with no injuries, police said

A 76-year-old female passenger from Felton was not wearing a seatbelt and ejected from the vehicle. She was tranported to Kent General and then Christiana Hospital and remained in serious condition.

Police said the driver of the F-250 allegedly failed to stop at the posted stop sign/flashing red light and struck the Dodge Ram in the driver’s side door.

Police said investigation continues. Del. 12 (Midstate Road) at the intersection of Del. 15 was closed for approximately four hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
